DMCI says two satellite plants sent to Masbate

OFF-GRID electricity supplier DMCI Power Corp. has deployed two satellite diesel-fired plants to Masbate in the Bicol Region with a combined capacity of 175 megawatts (MW), ensuring reliable power to two towns in the province.

In a statement released on Wednesday, DMCI Power said the move came after appeals made by local government units and the Masbate Electric Cooperative (Maselco) to address brownouts in Cawayan and Balud.

“Quality of life in Masbate has significantly improved because of our partnership with the Maselco. There’s more economic activity and higher productivity because people have access to reliable electricity,” DMCI Power President Nestor D. Dadivas was quoted in the statement as saying.
