Property firms eyed for MCIA mixed-use project

 

LISTED BUILDER Megawide Construction Corp. and Bangalore-based airport operator GMR Infrastructure Ltd. will talk with property developers by June for the Mactan-Cebu International Airport’s (MCIA) mixed-use component, which will be launched in 2018.

“We may tap a third party to help us develop the real estate component. The original plan is it will have hotels and a mall complex,” Megawide Corporate Information Officer Manuel Louie B. Ferrer told a media briefing at the Alphaland City Club in Makati City on Wednesday.

He said the joint venture firm GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corp. (GMCAC) will lease out the land, which makes up 20% of the airport’s land area that spans 63,000 square meters (sqm)
