Funeral service company aims to be PHL’s biggest

 

AFTER MAKING a killing building houses for the living, billionaire Manuel B. Villar, Jr. is braving the equity market with the listing of his funeral service business in line with efforts to make it the country’s biggest death care development and services firm.

Golden Haven Memorial Park, Inc. plans to raise P786.84 million from the sale of 74.117 million common shares at a maximum price of P10.62 each, according to a preliminary prospectus filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The shares are equivalent to 15% of the company’s capital stock.
