MPTC secures go-ahead for C-5 South Link project

METRO PACIFIC INVESTMENTS Corp.’s (MPIC) tollways arm has secured the final green light from the government to begin the construction of a project that will connect the Circumferential-5 (C-5) Road with Coastal Road.

The Toll Regulatory Board and the Department of Public Works and Highways on Monday gave the final approval for the Cavitex C-5 South Link Expressway project, which paves the way for the implementation of the first phase starting from C-5 Road in Taguig City to Moonwalk and Merville villages in Sucat, Parañaque City.

Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) set the groundbreaking later this month, after the Skyway operator Skyway O&M Company gave its no-objection to the project. Construction will start in July, with the project targeted for completion in 2019.
