PAL starts flights to Saipan in June

Bilyonaryo Lucio Tan’s Philippine Airlines will start offering twice weekly flights to Saipan on June 15 with an introductory rate of $400.

Using Airbus A-320, the new flights which are on code share with PAL Express depart Manila every Wednesday and Sunday at 9:20 pm and arrive in Saipan at 3:35 am local time the following day.

Flights will depart Saipan every Thursday and Monday at 4:35 am local time and arrive in Manila at 6:45 am.

Just four hours away from Manila, Saipan is known for its resorts, beaches and dive spots. It will be the airline’s 44th international destination.

Filipinos account for 36 percent of Saipan’s population.

“Saipan is home to thousands of Filipinos. Opening this new route will provide our kababayans that much-needed link to their homeland. On top of that, business and leisure travelers from Saipan now have the opportunity to experience PAL’s brand of service that is uniquely Filipino,” PAL president and COO Jaime J.Bautista said.

PAL is hoping to replicate the success it experienced in Guam with its new route.
