Razon to build new casino in QC
Bilyonaryo Enrique K. Razon Jr.’s Bloomberry Resorts Corp. plans to build a hotel with casino in a 1.5-hectare property in Quezon City.
“We will probably start developing that property next year. It will be a mixed-use development similar to Solaire with hotel and casino,” Razon said referring to the Solaire Resorts & Casino in Pagcor Entertainment City in Paranaque.
Surestre Properties Inc., the hotel and resort development arm of Bloomberry, acquired a 1.56-hectare property within Vertis North, an Ayala-led development, in Quezon City for P1.97 billion last year.
Sureste bagged the property after submitting a negotiated offer to the National Housing Authority, after two failed bids where the Bloomberry unit was the lone bidder.
Vertis North is a 45-hectare master planned development in the North Triangle property, including Trinoma mall.
Apart from the $1.2-billion Solaire Resort & Casino, Bloomberry has since ventured overseas, including a hotel and casino project on Jeju Island, a 20.96-hectare property in Silmi Island, and a 12.20-hectare property on Muui Island, all South Korea.
It also plans to put up a new integrated resort in Cyprus, Argentina, Taiwan and Japan.
