Paying forward: MVP sends Meralco crew to bring back power in Cagayan

Bilyonaryo Manuel V. Pangilinan sent a fleet of Manial Electric Co. repair crew and trucks to Cagayan on Tuesday to speed up the restoration of power lines in North Luzon province.

Cagayan went through the wringer for 20 hours when Supertyphoon “Lawin” (international name: Haima) slammed the province on October 20 which was its worst disaster since typhoon “Seniang” in 1973.

Cagayan suffered P5 billion in damages to 66,000 hectares of rice fields, P433 million in infrastructure damage, and 9,000 homes destroyed.

In a kind gesture, MVP sent his power restoration crew to Cagayan “to work pro-bono so they can accomplish more.’
