Oishi’s Carlos Chan hailed as most outstanding alumnus of Chiang Kai Shek College
Bilyonaryo Carlos Chan was recently honored by Chiang Kai Shek College (CKSC), the premier Filipino-Chinese school in the country, as its Most Outstanding Alumnus for 2016.
At the awards night held at the Manilla Hotel on October 26, Chan was given the highest honor by the CKSC Alumni Association for his feat of dominating both the Philippine and Chinese markets when it comes to snacks and beverages.
Chan is the founder of Liwayway Holdings Company Limited (LHCL), the manufacturer of the Oishi brand. Accompanying him during the awarding ceremony was his lovely wife, Priscilla.
The CKSC Alumni Association cited Chan’s excellence in entrepreneurship by placing the country in the global radar though LHCL which is selling Oishi products not only in China and the Philippines but also in other Asian and Western countries.
At present, the LHCL has factories in China, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand and India.
Chan, a former ambassador to China, was also the Forbes magazine’s 28th richest Filipino for 2016 with LHCL having a net worth of about $550 million.
