Antonio’s Century Properties stock shines as Trump secures White House


Century Properties Group Inc., headed by businessman and newly-appointed special envoy to the US Jose E.B. Antonio, emerged as the top gainer at the Philippine Stock Exchange, rising 20 percent.

CPG closed 12 centavos higher at P0.72 Wednesday with a total of 223.61 million shares valued at P153.75 million changing hands.

Real estate tycoon Donald Trump, who has just been elected the 45th president of the US, is CPG’s partner in the ultra-luxurious Trump Tower Manila, a $150 million, 820-foot tall skyscraper located at the 3.4-hectare Century City in the Makati central business district.

Given their partnership, the Philippines is hopeful it could enhance business ties with the US
Antonio was named special envoy to the US due to his track record as a businessman and vast connection in the US business community.

Trump’s stunning victory, which may be the greatest political upset in modern American history, sent shockwaves around the world. Global stocks nosedived and the US dollar took a beating as investors piled into safe-haven assets
