Henry Sy set to open world’s largest mall
SM Prime Holdings Inc., controlled by the family of the country’s richest man Henry Sy, is poised to open the largest structure for shoppers worldwide in China on Dec. 17.
With an investment of about 3 billion yuan and an area of 540,000 square meters, SM Tianjin is seen to become a destination mall with various attractions such as a Science Discovery Center, an Olympic-size skating rink, aquarium, game center, a 5-star cinema and gym.
The mall will also have a concert hall that can accommodate more than 900 people.
SM Tianjin. the SM Group’s seventh mall in China, boasts over 1,000 stores and 8,000 parking slots.
The Sy family already has other malls in Xiamen, Jinjiang, Chengdu, Suzhou, Chongqing, and Zibo.
