This award will put Fred Uytengsu in the same league as Neil Armstrong
The University of Southern California (USC) called him “one of the most admired entrepreneurs in the Philippines.”
Wilfred Steven Uytengsu will be one of the recipients of USC’s 2017 Alumni Awards . Past honorees include Apollo 11 astronaut Neil Armstrong MS, world-renowned architect Frank O. Gehry and Academy Award-winning filmmaker Robert Zemeckis.
“In 2012, Uytengsu contributed an $8 million gift to USC Athletics—the largest ever made to the department by a former student-athlete—to fund the Uytengsu Aquatics Center; his subsequent contributions raised the total gift amount to nearly $9 million. The new home for the Trojan men’s and women’s swimming, diving and water polo teams opened in 2014. More recently, Uytengsu contributed $1 million to the Greif Center office in USC Marshall’s new Jill and Frank Fertitta Hall; he also pledged $2 million towards the renovation of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum,” the USC website said of the Alaska Milk Corp., president and CEO’s charitable advocacies.
