Aboitiz family keen to invest in PH infra growth story

Erramon Aboitiz, the head of Cebu-based holding firm Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc., is on the lookout for projects in the booming infrastructure sector.

“First was our entry to cement. We actually look at that as our proxy to infrastructure. The more projects that are built in the Philippines, the better the business will do and the higher the demand will be for cement. So that’s why we classified that under infrastructure or infra-related”, the Aboitiz CEO told ANC’s The Boss.

He said firm wants to undertake large-scale infrastructure projects which include airports, public spaces, train stations and public transportation.

“Over the past few years we looked at several projects, we looked at some airports, toll roads the Laguna Lakeshore. We weren’t successful but we continue to be optimistic”, he added.
