Lucio Tan airline beefs up fleet
Philippine Airlines is adding seven brand new aircraft worth more than $550 million to its fleet as part efforts to provide modern, fuel-efficient planes.
The Lucio Tan-led airline said two Boeing 777-300 ER would arrive in December and five next-generation Bombardier Q400 between July and November.
The long-awaited twin-engine A350-900w will become PAL’s new flagship aircraft wok be delivered in 2018 up to 2019.
PAL ordered six A350, with option for six more. The aircraft is capable of flying non-stop from Manila to New York.
The additional B777-300 ERs will be deployed on the London and North American routes.
