SMC tollway unit to spend P3.04B for SLEX expansion
The tollway unit of San Miguel Corp. Has earmarked P3.04 billion this year for the expansion of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).
Bulk of the amoubt or about P2.32 billion would be used by South Luzon Tollways Corp. for the construction of additional lanes and toll plaza at TR2 and for the TR4 project.
TR2 involves the widening of the SLEX segment between Filinvest and Sta. Rosa Laguna from four to eight lanes and segment between Sta. Rosa to Calamba from four to six lanes.
TR4 , on the other hand, nvolves the construction of a four-lane toll road from Sto. Tomas Batangas to Lucena City.
About P438.1 million will go to flood mitigation, seamless toll project and toll collection system, while the remaining P275 million will be used for asphalt resurfacing, pavement repair, bridges and slope embankment.
