Globe restores mobile services in earthquake-hit Leyte
Ayala-led Globe Telecom said its mobile services are operating normally in majority of the areas hit by a 6.5 magnitude earthquake in Jaro, Leyte.
The tremor, which resulted in loss of commercial power, initially disrupted services in some areas in Leyte.
Yoly Crisanto, Globe senior vice president for Corporate Communications said the company was able to immediately restore services by utilizing generator sets in sites affected by the power loss.
However, some areas in Tacloban City as well as Kawayan, Biliran, Liloan and Thomas Oppus in Southern Leyte may experience poor mobile signal.
“The company’s technical teams are now closely monitoring the network to ensure normalization of operations in all sites,” Crisanto said.
