Injap Sia’s hotel expansion plans go full throttle

DoubleDragon Properties Corp.’s hotel unit is venturing outside Metro Manila with Boracay and Cagayan de Oro as the initial sites for its planed expansion.

Company president Edgar “Injap” Sia told reporters they would soon start the construction of two hotels under the Jinjiang brand as part of a strategy to expand their footprint nationwide. The move is aimed at taking advantage of the growing tourism market and increasing the firm’s leasable portfolio.

The Boracay hotel will rise in station 2 and will have more than 100 rooms, BusinessWorld reported.

DoubleDragon earlier said it was looking at building 2,000 Jin Jiang hotel rooms in key cities outside Metro Manila. These areas include Quezon City, Manila, Cavite, Baguio, Tagaytay, Subic, Roxas, Iloilo, Cebu, Bacolod, Dumaguete, Bohol, Palawan, Davao and Zamboanga.

It currently has two Jinjiang hotels in Makati and Ortigas.
