Kapunan explains why Tish rejected P260M settlement with Andy: He wanted her to declare he wasn’t gay
Tish Bautista would have agreed to settle her marital spat with Commission on Elections Chair Andy Bautista if not for the four conditions he imposed before he gave her the money.
Abogado Lorna Kapunan said the four conditions demanded by Bautista were all dealbreakers, including his stipulation that Tish declare the Harvard-trained lawyer was not gay.
“The very telling one… everything on his sexual preferences, i.e. that he is gay. That she denies that. How can these conditions be in a settlement?” said Kapunan in an interview with ANC’s Karen Davila Tuesday.
The other three conditions demanded by Bautista were: Tisha should admit that she lied; that she declared Kapunan lied and should be disbarred; and there was nothing irregular or criminal in the documents she obtained.
Kapunan said that before these conditions were imposed, Tish and Bautista, with the help of their respective siblings and minus the lawyers, had worked out a draft settlement agreement where Bautista would pay a total of P260 million to end their marriage amicably: P70 million up front and another P20 million to be paid in installments for her; and their two condo units at Pacific Plaza Towers worth P130 million and P40 million for their four sons.
“How can this be extortion when this was mutually agreed upon?” asked Kapunan. “They did not agree not because of amount but because of the four conditions.”
Had Bautista not imposed the dealbreakers, Kapuna said the spat should have been settled as early as December last year.
In an interview with TV5, Kapunan bared that Tish found a “bullwhip in a paper bag inside his safe.”
Kapunan also claimed that Bautista had a fetish for porn sites. “Why he has all of these websites… In one website, he is registered as a young boy. In another site, he registered as a sexy woman. I didn’t want to mention this but when he started talking about morality, we have to subpoena the websites and email accounts,” she said.
