PLDT keeps lead in home broadband
Telco giant PLDT Inc. continued to grow its home broadband business which booked a 12 percent rise in revenues to P15.8 billion in the first half.
The growth was driven by the aggressive rollout of more Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) lines and the growing range of rich digital content and services.
PLDT’s Home business unit saw its subscriber base expand by 10 percent to P3.88 billion.
It accounted for around 66 percent of new residences connected with high speed internet, further fortifying its leadership in this market.
Data continues to power PLDT Home’s revenue growth, rising 15 percent to P9.7 billion
Voice revenues increased six percent to P6.1 billion.
“Along with our Enterprise business unit, PLDT HOME has continued to set the pace for service revenues, growing for at least six consecutive quarters already,” said PLDT president Manuel V. Pangilinan.
Data and broadband revenues now comprise 62 percent of PLDT Home’s revenues.
