Aston Martin PH dealer Marc Tagle wants to sell Ferrari, Maserati too
Bilyonaryo Marc Tagle is reportedly in talks to take over the local dealership of Ferrari and Maserati from luxury car dealer Wellington Soong.
Our Babbler said Tagle was looking at striking a 60-40 or 50-50 partnership with Soong who had previously let go of Land Rover and Jaguar to CATS Motors of Bilyonaryo Felix Ang.
“Marc just wants to consolidate these fantastic brands under one house,” our Babbler said.
Tagle is currently the local dealer of James Bond’s favorite ride, Aston Martin, where Soong is his biggest partner.
Tagle is also president of the family-owned Philippine Allied Enterprises Corp. (PAEC), the local distributor of Japanese tire brand Bridgestone.
PAEC was formed in 1954 by Tagle’s grandfather, Teodoro Y. Tagle, who also sold Italian appliance brand, La Germania.
Our Babler , however, said Soong might be exiting totally from the automotive business.
Soong was surprisingly absent in the first Aston Martin owners club elections.
Soong’s famous showroom at the BGC has been renamed “The Wellington” and converted into a Radio Shack-type boutiqe selling electronic equipment.
