Ayala Group allots P1.3B to expand healthcare business

AC Healthcare Holdings Inc. is spending P1.3 billion to boost the number of its FamilyDOC clinics to 100 by 2020.

At present, AC Healthcare has 11 FamilyDOC community-based clinics located in Las Piñas, Parañaque and Cavite.

The group aims to end the year with 24 clinics, with the opening of outlets in Pasig, Taguig, and Pateros. It plans to double this to 50 by 2018.

For next year, AC Healthcare will start expanding its facilities in Laguna and Quezon City.

FamilyDOC is considering opening a new format that will incorporate the Generika Drugstore, which has over 670 branches.

The Ayala Group is hoping to cash in on the rising demand for healthcare amid a growing middle class.
