Tessie Sy-Coson shares how SM group is fighting obsolescence

 

The SM Investments Corp. vice chairman shared in an interview for the Management Association of the Philippines and PwC 2017 CEO Survey Report, how the SM Group is not immune to “digital, geopolitical and climate disruption.”

She emphasized the need for “meeting of the minds” wherein the group’s partners, whether large companies, or small and medium businesses, are called to “collaborate and follow the growth.”

“Our group has a plan on how far we want to expand. If our partners want to move forward with us, then we will take them along. We collaborate and follow the growth. If it’s a startup or a smaller enterprise in retail, we will help them start with a kiosk and encourage them to grow,” she said.

“On the supplier side, if they have a good product that we could sell, we will give them more volume and try to scale them up,” she added.

With m a’am Tessie at the helm, we believe the SM empire is far from being obsolete. #
