JAZA stunned by ‘bold’ steps taken on tax reform
The tax reform plan is downright impressive for this bilyonaryo.
Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, who currently sits as chairman of Ayala Corp., showered the Duterte administration with words of encouragement as he flew to Singapore with members of the President’s economic team.
The dashing bilyonaryo said the tax reform plan being pushed by the Department of Finance would allow the Philippines to take a big leap in pushing the economy forward and sustaining rapid growth.
“I have to say that I’m impressed by the boldness that our government is showing. We are a nation that has gotten used to incremental steps forward. But as you can see from the dialogue that we had today, there is a sense of boldness in the way people are looking to the future. That is something that you generally see more in the private sector than the public sector,” the Ayala magnate said during an economic forum in Singapore.
The Ayalas along with other big Filipino businessmen have vowed to support the P8-trillion infrastructure spending plan put forward by the administration.
What a grand vote of confidence!
