Cavite-Batangas-Tagaytay expressway seen to start in 2019

 

Construction of the P22.43 billion Cavite-Batangas Expressway project is targeted to commence by the first quarter of 2019, the Department of Public Works and Highways said.

“We are now evaluating the feasibility study before we can give our approval. We are ready to give the results of our evaluation within the year,” said Maria Catalina Cabral, DPWH Undersecretary for Planning and PPP.

“By next year there will be a Swiss challenge,” she added.

The 49 kilometer expressway will connect Cavite and Batangas, all thw way to Tagaytay City and ultimately terminating in Nasugbu.

MPCALA Holdings president Luigi Bautista said they expect to get the original proponent status for the project by November this year.

The project is seen to cut the travel time from Sta. Rosa, Laguna to Nasugbu,Batangas to just one hour from 2.5 hours.

It is expected to be completed in the first half of 2022.
