NGCP’s Cotabato tower bombed

The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) said tower 106 of the Kibawe-Sultan Kudarat and Kibawe-Tacurong 138kV lines in Carmen, Cotabato was bombed and toppled at 11:10 pm Tuesday (Oct. 3).

“Restoration of tower 106 will commence as soon as the area is secured,” NGCP said.

NGCP said bombings only serve to increase the burden of the public through power service interruptions when towers are bombed.

“NGCP continues its appeal to the local and national government, local community leaders, and the public, to help identify the perpetrators of the bombings, and to negotiate with uncooperative landowners, to prevent longer power interruptions,” it said.
