Endika Aboitiz teams up with Shell to put up EV charging station network

QEV Philippines Electromobility Solutions and Consulting Group Inc. has entered into a partnership with Pilipinas Shell to put up the first electric vehicle fast charging infrastructure network in the country.

Under the deal, an initial 100 pilot sites for the EV charging posts wl be constructed. The first installations are expected to take place in December this year.

The charging posts will be supplied by ABB (Asea Brown Boveri), the Swiss multinational company specializing in robotics power and automation technology areas.

One of the main reasons for the slow uptake of EVs is the lack of supporting charging infrastructure.
A partnership between Spanish businessmen Endika Aboitiz and Enrique Banuelos, QEV Philippines has proposed to convert 50,000 jeepneys from diesel to electric.
