Globe on track to deploy 2M home broadband by 2020

Globe Telecom Inc. expects to connect one million households next year, more than double the 400,000 target by end-2017.

By 2020, Globe aims to connect two million homes as it launches prepaid home broadband Wifi.

“The time is ripe to disrupt the market and break the barriers of getting a broadband plan through accessibility and ease of application. We are committed to provide fast and reliable home connectivity to more Filipinos, nationwide,” said Martha Sazon, SVP of Globe At Home.

Sazon said Globe Home Wifi is easy to install and has 50 percent stronger WIFI coverage versus myfi.

“It’s very promising so far and the take up has been really super high,” Sazon said, adding that 87 percent of households in the Philippines still has no access to an internet connection.

Globe scaled up its capital expenditure budget by $100 million to $850 million this year to further improve internet services in the country.
