BSP to build ‘next generation’ branch in Cauayan, Isabela
The central bank has joined in on the grand plan to develop a financial center up north.
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) recently broke ground for the future site of its branch in Cauayan City, Isabela, where it plans to build a “Next Generation” office and cash center to service residents of Northern Luzon.
The BSP has given in on the pitch of Cauayan Mayor Faustino Dy to build its new branch on a 7,000 square meter property donated by the city hall, where it plans to build a financial district in Tagaran.
“This is in recognition of the status of Isabela province as a vibrant growth area in
the Northeastern corridor of Luzon, and of the stature of the City of Cauayan as the ‘Ideal City of the North,'” the central bank said in a statement.
The BSP will try out its state-of-the-art branch design there, which will focus on serving currency requirements of the banks in the area.
