MPIC unit to partner with Leighton Holdings for Calax

 

MPCala Holdings Inc. is set to ink a deal with Australia’s Leighton Holdings to develop a portion of the Cavite Laguna Expressway project.

The contract to build the Cavite portion of the tollroad is estimated to cost around P7.3 billion.

“We just finished the negotiation, so were scheduling the contract signing with Leighton. We plan to do the contract signing in November. By January, they will start construction of the project,” said Luigi Bautista, president of MPCala Holdings.

The P35.4 billion Calax is a four-lane, 45-kilometer closed-system toll expressway connecting the Cavitex and South Luzon Expressway. lt will start from Cavitex in Kawit, Cavite and end at the SLEx-Mamplasan Interchange in Biñan, Laguna.
