DOE renews APC Group’s geothermal service contract


The Department of Energy has approved the extension of the geothermal renewable energy service contract (GRESC) of APC Group Inc. subsidiary Aragorn Power and Energy Corp. in Kalinga, Apayao.

The contract has been extended until Sept. 24, 2018.

In approving extension, the DOE said Aragorn had substantially performed its work commitments.

APC is set to develop steam fields that can generate around 100 megawatts (MW) of power. This is ecpected to entail an investment of $300 million.
