MPIC, URC, D&L among most honored companies in Asia

 

Metro Pacific Investments Corp., Universal Robina Corp. and D&L Industries Inc. ranked among the most honored companies in Asia for their corporate leadeship and investor relations expertise.

Over 2,500 companies were nominated for the awards in the 2017 All-Asia Executive Team Survey conducted by New York-based Institutional Investor magazine.

Reflecting the opinions of more than 3,900 investment professionals at 980 financial institutions, the rankings are highly regarded and recognized among top analysts and portfolio managers in the financial industry.

D&L Industries president & CEO Alvin Lao was recognized as the” Best CEO” in the Philippines while
MPIC’s David Nicol bagged the “Best CFO” (chief finance officer).

URC’s Michael Liwanag, on the other hand, was named “Best IR (Investor Relations) professional.”

MPIC, meanwhile, was hailed as the best company for investor relations.

Companies were ranked based on various aspects of investor relations and corporate governance. These include having accessible senior executives, providing timely and appropriate financial disclosure, having a well informed and empowered IR team, responding quickly and thoroughly to requests, hosting the most constructive conference calls and meetings, and providing the highest quality corporate document and investor kit materials.

“This is a wonderful achievement for the entire team, which would not have been possible without the support of D&L’s management. We have the utmost respect for our minority shareholders and will continue our efforts to maintain an IR program that is engaging, informative and transparent,” Lao said.
