Scam alert: Cebu Pacific warns against deceptive travel company websites

As the busiest holidays sales period of the year kicks off, Cebu Pacific is warning consumers against unauthorized online hotel booking websites like Skiddoo and Traveloka.

In an advisory, Cebu Pacific said these websites are not linked to its booking system.

The country’s leading budget carrier urged the public to be extra vigilant when being offered cheap travel and to verify flight details and other ancilliary services directly with the airlines.

Scammers have gotten better at making their operations and websites look like they are legitimate and have scale. It only takes a small outlay for these fraudsters to set up bogus travel booking websites.

“Whenever possible, we encourage travelers to book flights only via the official Cebu Pacific website,; through the CEB Mobile App; or through the reservation hotlines (+632) 702-0888 or (+632) 230-8888,” the Gokongwei-owned airline said.
