Expats find PH a happier place to live in — HSBC
The Philippines is actually a lovely place to be in, according to foreigners who were assigned to work here.
A survey conducted by global banking giant Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corp. (HSBC) revealed that 54% of expatriates who have been transferred to Manila said they are “happier” after moving their homes here, while 48% said they have a brighter outlook in lie.
Life is also generally kinder for the expat’s families, with 56% of these corporate bigwigs saying that quality of live improved for their children as they started a new life here. Some 42% even said their kids had an easier time to make friends with Filipinos.
“This is not surprising given the general happy disposition, strong family ties, work ethic, and innate hospitality of the Filipino people that make more expats agree that working in the Philippines offers a good place to improve one’s well-being, bring you closer to your partner, provide quality of life for children, and have a more positive outlook of life,” according to Kris Werner, HSBC Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management for the Philippines.
What a warm welcome!
