IMF sees PH growth at 6.6%

Economic growth is assured of logging above 6 percent over the next few years.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is so optimistic about the Philippine economy that it has tagged the economy as enjoying “very strong” growth. The IMF sees the economy expanding by 6.6 percent this 2017 and by 6.7 percent next year, which follows a 6.9 percent growth in 2016.

This is faster than the 3.6 percent increase expected for the world economy, and is also the fastest among the ASEAN-5.

This means that growth will be within the 6.5-7.5 percent target set by the Duterte administration.
