Meralco eyes new power supply deal
Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) is eyeing to close another deal involving the supply of 50 to 100 megawatts of solar power in the next three to six months.
“We’re in discussions with several parties,” Meralco president Oscar Reyes said.
Reyes said offers were made by at least 10 different companies.
The proposals, once accepted, will be subject to a price challenge to comply with the competitive selection process (CSP) rule.
Last year, Meralco signed up 100 MW from Solar Philippines of Bilyonaryo Leandro Leviste and PowerSource First Bulacan Solar Inc. at 50 MW each.
