Pernia, Diokno pick up national ID tips from India

Secretaries Ernesto Pernia and Benjamin Diokno are stoked with the idea of finally creating a national identification (ID) system in the country, so they sat down with the experts who made the feat happen in India.

The Cabinet men sat down with Nandan Nilekani, architect of India’s Aadhar ID system during the stretch of the World Bank-International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings held in Washington, D.C.

The two were impressed with India’s story that Pernia even promised to send a “study mission” to their country in order to pick up tips and tricks for the major project.
