GSIS wants pensions, benefits for OFWs in Cyprus

The pension firm wants more Filipinos covered by pension and health insurance, including those outside the country.

Officials of the Government Service Insurance System met with counterparts from the Republic of Cyprus as they explored a social security agreement between the two countries.

The plan was to provide benefits and pensions to Filipinos living in Cyprus, which will effectively extend pension payouts and similar benefits to these workers even if they are outside the Philippines.

The two-day meeting looks to be promising and could be the first of many. Stay tuned!
