These disruptors are making their presence stronger than ever.

Financial technology (fintech) players are showing their might so that they can be on the same level as their banking counterparts. These digital financial services providers have formed FintechAlliance.ph, which combines emerging industry players in one group.

The alliance was formed on Sept. 27 at the Rockwell Club, and is led by Lito Villanueva as chairman, who also happens to be the managing director of Smart’s FINTQ and Lendr platforms.

“As the Philippines is poised towards accelerated digital transformation given its enabling regulatory environment, FintechAlliance.ph is a welcome development in harnessing the full potential of digital to further promote and build a sustainable inclusive finance ecosystem,” Villanueva said.

Also elected to the top posts are Oriente Express Co-Founder Scott Prentice as vice chairman and Ayannah Founder Mikko Perez as Treasurer.

Their counterparts in the industry include the Bankers Association of the Philippines, the Chamber of Thrift Banks, and the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines.

Wait for them to zoom ahead!
