Uber, Grab join fintech alliance in PH

 

These ride-hailing apps are joining talks on digital finance.

Transportation network vehicle services Grab and Uber have signed up as part of the newly-formed FintechAlliance.ph, which is a group composed of financial technology players in the country.

Most of the group’s members are online payments and e-wallet service providers, but the transport providers was able to squeeze in and join the fun. The alliance is chaired by Smart’s Lito Villanueva who heads the digital finance unit FINTQ and Lendr.

In fact, Grab country head Brian Cu and Uber Philippines general manager Laurence Cua sit as part of the Board of Trustees since the FintechAlliance.ph started in September.
