Margarita Fores and Japanese chef Hiroyasu Kawate donate fiberglass boats to Capiz fishermen

Charity and not just culinary excellence is Margarita Fores’s passion.

The granddaughter of industrialist J. Amado Araneta not only teamed up with the owner of Florilege restaurant in the kitchen but also in her community projects.

“This “baroto” or fibreglass boat and 2 others were donated this morning to the fishermen Co-op in Culajao, Capiz to help them in their oyster harvest, allow them to plant more mangroves and prevent erosion and help in their weekly clean-up of the waterways. Because of our F2#florilegexfores and #foresxflorilege dinners at @raffles_makati #mireio and in Tokyo we helped The Baroto Project and helped make this happen! Thank you Raffles and Mireio for this blessed opportunity! Here’s to many more boats to come…. #asias50best#sustainability #thebarotoproject#grffoundation #fishermen #foodsecurity#foodandpeople #capiz #rafflesmakati#mireioatraffles #[email protected] #notjustchefs” @margaritafores shared on her Instagram.
