PLDT to invest P11B more in network expansion
PLDT Inc. is shelling out P11 billion in the next two years to upgrade its fixed and wireless networks in line with efforts to deliver ultra-fast broadband internet.
“We are leveling up the public’s broadband experience with the migration of our DSL customers to Fibr-fast connectivity. This will fortify the foundation of the SmartHome for the digitally savvy Filipino family,” said Marco Borlongan, PLDT first Vice President and head of Business.
“With our network modernization program, we are bringing the power of Fibr to every Filipino home so that our subscribers can better enjoy their digital lifestyle through access to world-class Internet,” he added.
PLDT Home is rolling out over one million ports nationwide to power about four million homes with Fibr-fast internet by the end of the year.
It has already spend P300 billion or nearly $6 billion over the last decade to put in place the most extensive fixed and wireless network infrastructure in the country.
