Extended! BSP gives until Dec. 29 to switch old money

The central bank has been extremely patient to people with old money left in their mattresses and piggy banks.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has extended its deadline for the public to exchange their 1985 edition paper bills to Dec. 29, 2017, giving another three months for Filipinos to hand in their hard-earned but outdated moolah.

Each transaction will be limited to P100,000 per person which the BSP will accept and replace with the New Generation Currency issued back in 2010, which have brighter colors and younger-looking Presidents on its face.

The exchange can be made before any BSP office or branch nationwide.
