Let’s volt in: Agencies form task force for priority infra projects
This core team will make sure that the flagship projects will proceed smoothly.
Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia would not let anything rain on the Duterte administration’s parade as they roll out a barrage of big-ticket and “game-changing” infrastructure projects.
His solution was to come up with an inter-agency body that would focus on turning these plans into reality. An inter-agency task force called the Project Facilitation, Monitoring and Innovation (PFMI) Task Force will be hacking its way to implement policies and address issues that arise in developing local infrastructure.
The task force will be composed of representatives from the National Economic and Development Authority, the Department of Finance as co-chair, Department of Budget and Management, Office of the Cabinet Secretary, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Transportation, and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority.
“As part of a more efficient planning and programming process of the government, programs, activities, and projects for inclusion in the country’s Public Investment Program must be examined early on and screened through a more rational and methodical process,” Pernia said.
Build, Build, Build is a go, go, go as far as these guys are concerned.
