After Shell, QEV PH partners with SM Supermalls for EV charging stations
Start-up QEV Philippines Electromobility Solutions and Consulting Group Inc. has entered into an agreement with the Sy family’s SM Supermalls to put up electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging stations.
Under the deal, QEV will install 100 EV charging stations in various SM malls across the country.
SM mall-goers may have access to two pilot charging stations as early as February 2018.
This follows QEV’s deal with Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. to install EV chargers in the latter’s 100 pilot gasoline stations.
The charging posts will be supplied by ABB (Asea Brown Boveri), the Swiss multinational company specializing in robotics power and automation technology areas.
QEV Philippines is a partnership between Spanish businessmen Endika Aboitiz and Enrique Banuelos which has proposed to convert 50,000 jeepneys from diesel to electric.
It plans to put up more than 200 EV fast-charging stations nationwide with the help of location partners by 2022.
