Dominguez wants early preps for 2019 mining review

He has clearly learned from recent experience.

Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III has ordered an early start for the next round of mine site audits by 2019, even as the first batch are yet to be completed.

In a statement, Dominguez said members of the Mining Industry Coordinating Council should already start strategizing for the mining review scheduled in 2019, with the routine to be done every two years.

By January 2018, the game plan should already be discussed so that the next round of audit will proceed much more smoothly.

“Because it took quite a bit of time to plan for the implementation of this (first review), and because we are mandated to do this every two years, I think, in January we should already be planning what we will do for 2019,” Dominguez said.

It’s best to be prepared.
