Credit Suisse wants to establish presence in PH

This Swiss bank wants to bet on the Philippines.

Credit Suisse has applied to open a representative office in Manila, according to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Deputy Governor Chuchi Fonacier.

Fonacier, who heads the BSP’s banking regulation sector, said the bank has filed an application to set up a representative office here, which is short of opening a full-service branch to handle deposits and loans.

Credit Suisse’s application will be up for evaluation, although Fonacier said it can be resolved before 2017 ends.
