More Filipinos got jobs online in September – survey


The number of Filipinos who got hired online shot up by 4% in September, according to the Monster Employment Index.

In a statement, the monthly survey said more residents found jobs through the Internet, with most of them venturing into the retail sector as more companies set up their operations in the country.

In fact, online hiring under the the retail industry jumped by 21% from September 2016.

“Strong macroeconomic fundamentals and rising disposable income have attracted many foreign retail brands to set up shop in the Philippines. This has propelled economic growth as well as created more jobs across this sector,” said Sanjay Modi, Managing Director at

In contrast, hiring for the healthcare sector plunged by 6% from last year.
