Emperador on a high as profit jumps 15% in Q3
Andrew Tan-led Emperador Inc. grew its third quarter earnings to P1.7 billion, up 15 percent year on year even as revenues remained flat at P9.5 billion.
For the nine-month period ended Sept. 30, Emperador’s net income declined 11.4 percent to P4.4 billion as revenues slightly fell to P27.6 billion.
Emperador is the world’s largest brandy company that owns Spanish brandy and sherry brands led by the iconic Fundador as well as Scotch whisky brands Dalmore and Jura.
“We have committed considerable amount of resources to bring new exciting products to the Philippine and overseas markets. This is in line with ongoing efforts in pursuit of premiumization strategy in the Philippines as well as our strategy to grow Scotch whisky business worldwide and also potentially partake in the comeback of international brandy particularly in the luxury end of the spectrum,” said Winston Co, president of Winston.
The group has a wide range of products in its portfolio – from value to super premium – and an international reach to over 100 countries. It distributes the Whyte and Mckay products and Ernest and Gallo wines in the Philippines.
