Boracay airport celebrates one million passengers
The Godofredo P. Ramos Airport or Boracay Airport, the gateway to the country’s most popular tourist destination, achieved a major milestone after it hit the one million passenger mark.
Last Sept. 29, the Boracay airport welcomed its one millionth passenger Maria Elizabeth Napenas who arrived via Air Asia flight Z2 223.
To celebrate the one million passenger milestone, the Boracay Airport gave away two roundtrip AirAsia tickets and an overnight stay for two in Boracay.
Boracay Airport, operated by TransAire Development Holdings Corp. under San Miguel Corp., is set to unveil a new international passenger terminal by the third quarter of 2018.
The two-story passenger terminal, which will have 12 air bridges and an expanded runway that can handle larger aircraft, will boost the airport’s capacity to six million passengers per year.
