GSIS opens P47.7M emergency loans to Quezon residents after typhoon


The pension service is ready to help out residents displaced by typhoon Maring.

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) announced a P47.72 million loan line for residents of Gumaca in Quezon, which they can tap for emergency loans to rebuild their homes and properties.

In a statement, the state pension firm said at least 589 active members in the area may avail of such loans for as much as P20,000, while those with existing balances may get fresh credit.

The GSIS will accept loan applications until Nov. 22. Once approved, the loans are payable in 36 months with a 6% annual interest rate.
