Manulife names new top execs in Asia

 

A former banker will be taking the lead with this insurance company’s Asian operations.

Manulife Financial Corporation has announced changes to its top management in Asia, with the changes taking effect on Monday, Nov. 13.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, the Toronto-based insurer said Anil Wadhwani will now sit as President & Chief Executive Officer for Manulife Asia.

Prior to joining Manulife, Wadhwani previously headed the Consumer Banking segment of Citi for Europe, Middle East & Africa.

Meanwhile, Manulife’s interim general manager Philip J. Witherington has been reverted to his post as Executive Vice President in the region.
